Exploring the Diversity of Rice Landraces in West Africa: Getting Insights Into Salinity and Drought Stress Tolerance Pheno-ARL
Assuming that Guinea-Bissau rice landraces are adapted to different cropping systems, we intend to test their resistance to the environmental stressors present in each one: water deficit (present in rainfed upland rice) and salinity (present in mangrove paddy rice). We plan to start with phenotypic measurements but, depending on the funding available, in a second phase we intend to complement the phenotypic studies with a molecular approach.
