CoffeeOmic's Climate

A systems approach to understand the impact of climate changes in Coffea spp

Coffee plant has been predicted to haveextensive loss of suitable areas, yield, and biodiversity, as well as strong social impacts due to climate changes. However, high air [CO2] (a major driver of warming) is a key factor to coffee heat tolerance. Thus global warming impact on this crop may be lower than previously assumed. To unveil the molecular mechanisms involved in such improved stress response, and contributing to this crop sustainability, a systems biology (Omics) approach was proposed.
