Human-carnivore Conflicts
Human-carnivore conflicts in NE Mozambique: understanding the social and biological contexts of the conflict and defining mitigation and management strategies
The project aims to understand the scale of the conflict between carnivores and the local population in NE Mozambique and delineate an efficient and practical human-carnivore mitigation management plan. Our approach is multidisciplinary, by fully integrating the socio-economic, political, historical, and biological dimensions of conservation conflicts when defining and implementing mitigation schemes, which is often lacking in carnivores managing plans in developing countries.
