MIOMBO
A multidisciplinary approach to study climate change and fire impact in the miombo woodlands from the Niassa National Reserve (NNR), North Mozambique
The Miombo woodlands are the most extensive warm dry forest type in southern Africa, playing a crucial role at the social, economic and environmental levels. The project aims to understand ecosystem changes in relation to fire, human, animal and climate disturbances as well as to predict and mitigate their interactive effects on the ecosystem, in the NNR one of the most pristine conservation areas of the World.
